Date of Pilgrimage to Lourdes
This year's pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place on Saturday 24 May to Friday 30 May 2025.
The pilgrimage to Lourdes is a significant religious journey for many Catholics worldwide. Lourdes, a small town in southwestern France, became famous in 1858 when a young girl, Bernadette Soubirous, reported visions of the Virgin Mary. Pilgrims visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, which includes the Grotto of Massabielle where the apparitions occurred. They seek spiritual healing, participate in processions, and collect holy water from the spring believed to have miraculous properties. The pilgrimage is a profound experience of faith, prayer, and community.
Further details will be published in due course.
Lectors Training
The next Lectors training session will be held on Saturday 24 May 2025 after the Saturday Vigil Mass. Father Daniel will conduct the session at St. Michael and the Holy Angels church. Attendance is mandatory for all Lectors.
Safer Recruitment Checks
All roles eligible for a DBS must hold a DBS issued within the last three years. If your DBS is still valid (within the last three years), no action is required. If your DBS is older than three years, a new DBS needs to be put in place.
Please note: Due to the likely increase in DBS applications, processing times may be longer than usual. The parish Safeguarding Team appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition.
