The Sacraments
The Seven Sacraments of the Catholic Church
The Roman Catholic Church has seven holy sacraments that are seen as mystical channels of divine grace, instituted by Christ. Each is celebrated with a visible rite, which reflects the invisible, spiritual essence of the sacrament. Whereas some sacraments are received only once, others require active and ongoing participation to foster the "living faith" of the celebrant.

INFANT Baptism
Infant Baptism can be celebrated at any time and date arranged with the Priest (but preferably Saturdays 11.30 am to 2.00 pm; or Sundays 12 Noon to 1.00 pm).
Parents may be required to present the Birth Certificate of the child to be baptized to the priest.
God-parents: At least one god-parent must be a practicing catholic (Can 874) and may be required to sign a declaration.
Also, parents and god-parents are required to attend a pre-baptism session.

This is usually celebrated once a year either in the month of May or June for children who are in year 3 and are 8 years of age and above who have not done their First Holy Communion, or who are yet to be baptized or who are baptized in a non-Catholic Church or Ecclesial Community.
The registration of children for the Preparation Programme for the reception of these sacraments take place in the third week and the fourth week of September while the lessons begin in October. Parents/guardians are required to present the baptism certificate of their wards during registration.
The formal enrolment of the children takes place the last Sunday in November unless otherwise indicated for a given year.

This takes place every three years and will be properly publicized in the parish. The next one is due to commence in the first quarter of 2025.
